There is a recurring theme from the discussions I have overheard. Education is pointed at as a cure for the world’s problems. In conflict with this arguement is the “slogan” based discussions I witness. The political discussions become talking points and have little to do with solutions or best practices. The talk shows and news magazines perpetuate ideas that come in sound bites. So many of the comments are so outrageous or preposterous, one can’t help to be offended. Does anyone listen? If so, do they understand? The political ideas are put forth as truth when in fact they are merely slick marketing rhetoric with no substance or modicum of fact. The political debates should result in best solutions. What they do is “sling arrows of untruths and mutinous rhetoric.”
Additionally, there is such a dogmatic emphasis on each others statement of truth, there can be no solution or truth capable.
It is puzzling!
God has given us the most infinite possibilities for learning and we close the learning off with egoic walls. We close our minds to innovation and new understandings. We stay in a “comfort zone” of ignorance.
How will we ever come to love our neighbhors as ourselves when all we do is promote and protect ourselves at any cost?
”I am always right” is etched upon the ramparts of egoic defenses and no prisoners will be taken or allowed to enter the walls. How can solutions be found within such walls of defense and lies based on fear? We strive for solutions only as long as they are “My” decisions according to how “we” believe the world should be. No other opinion is worthwhile or acceptable.
Billions of individuals thinking their way is the only way and we wonder why things are as they are.
We Shrug and go on with the sad refrain of life ”My way or the highway” and are firmy convinced that all who fail to join the journey on the highway gets what they deserve, no matter the severity of consequence.
Who stole the knowledge? Who judged the knowledge? Who hanged the messenger? Knowledge vigilantes?
